Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Length and breadth of a rectangle are 240 m and 110 m respectively.

To find:-

Find the area, in hectares of the rectangle?

Solution:-

Length of the rectangle(l)=240 m

Breadth of the rectangle (b)=110 m

Area of a rectangle (A)="lb" sq.units

=>A=240×110 sq.m

=>A=26,400 sq.m

we know that

1 Hectare =10,000 sq.m

=>1sq.m=1/10000 hectares

=>26400 sq.m=26400/10000

=>26400sq.m=2.6400 hectares

Area =2.64 hectares

Answer:-

Area of the rectangle=2.64 hectares

Used formulae:-

  • Area of a rectangle whose length and breadth are'l' and 'b' units respectively is "lb" sq.units
  • 1 Hectare=10,000 sq.m
  • 1 sq.m=1/10000 hectares
