⋆ GIVEN :-

• Find the greatest number of 4 digit which is a perfect square.

⋆ To Find :-

• We have to find the greatest number of 4 digit,

• which is a perfect square.

⋆ Solution :-

• The greatest 4 - digit number = 9999

• The smallest 4 - digit number = 1000

• ∴ we will first find the square root of 9999 and if the root of the number becomes an integer then this is our required number.

• √9999 = 1899

• Now we will use the standard operation of long division method,

        we get the answer =  0198

• ∴ the closest square root of the largest perfect square is 99.

• 99² = 99 × 99

• 99² = 9801

• ∴ We can also subtract like this,

• Largest 4 digit number - the standard operation of long division of

       largest 4 digit number.

• 9999 - 0198 = 9801

• Hence, 9801 is the greatest four digit number which is a perfect

        square.
