5. Find the value of k so that each of the following equations may have x = 1, y = 1 as a
kx - 2y = 10
(ii) 5x + 2ky = 3k
(iii) 9kx + 12k
6. If x = *2 and y = k is a solution of the equation x - 5y + 6 = 0, find the values of k.
7. For what value of k; x = 2, y = 3 is a solution of the equation (k + 1) - (2k + 3) y -

Answer:

i) kx -2y =10

putting the value of X and and y we get

k-2=10

k=12

ii) 5x + 2ky= 3k

5+ 2k= 3k

k=5

6) 2-5k +6=0

8-5k=0

5k=8

k=8/5

7) (k+2)-(2k+3)y=0

k+2-6k-9=0

-5k-7=0

-5k=7

k=-7/5
