5. Give reason for the following:
(a) Metals are used to make strings of musical instruments.
(b) Copper bottomed utensils are used for cooking.
(c) Sodium is kept in kerosene while phosphorous is kept in water,​

Answer:

a) These are bcoz metals are good in making sounds, that means they have the property of sonorous, which allows them to produce good quality sound.

b) Copper bottomed vessels are used for cooking because of copper' s excellent heat conductivity. Copper conducts five time heat better than iron and twenty times better than stainless steal.

c) Sodium is kept in water while phosphorous is kept in water because sodium and potassium react with oxygen and get fire easily so they immersed

it to avoid burn.
