In mammals, the heart has 4 Chambers: the right atrium, the left atrium, the right ventricle and the left ventricle.

The heart is divided into 2 sides: one for oxygenated blood and another for deoxygenated blood.

This is because mammals require a lot of oxygen, and they don't afford the mixing of blood.

The atriums prevent backflow of blood and regulates it.
