Policies of East India Company affected each and every section of Indian society. King,Queen,landlord and tribals were affected in different ways. Nawabs and Rajas gradually lost their authority and honor . The armed forces were abandoned and revenue were taken away by the British. Many kings and queens were faced succession problems because of the Doctrine of Lapse . so, that's why British policies were responsible for revolt of 1857.
