Electricity bill for three months = Rs.2140.32.

Given:

  •     An electric iron of 800 watt.
  •     4 tube lights of 20 watt each.
  •     Refrigerator of 100 watt in a household.
  •     Working for 8 hours a day.
  •     Cost of 1 unit of energy is 3

Find:

             Electricity bill for three months.

Explanation:

  • All three equipment are working 8 Hr per day hence no need to calculate separate electricity bill of each equipment.
  • Each light have 20W hence 4 light has (4×20)W consume energy
  • Total  household load = 800+(4×20) +100                                                                        = 980 W ⇒ 0.98 KW
  • For 3 months i.e consider month has (30,31,30)days.
  • Hence total 91 days. Per day 8 hr
  • For 91 days = 91 × 8 Hr.

                            = 728 Hr.

  • Total load for 3 month = 0.98 × 728

                                              = 713.44 KW/Hr(unit)

  • 1 unit energy = 1 KW/Hr cost is 3 rs
  • Therefore 713.44 Unit = 713.44 × 3

                                             = 2140.32 Rs.

Electricity bill for three months = Rs.2140.32
