Solution:

Total Teams = 11

two teams are required to play  with each other

Hence

10 teams will play against each other in resulting elimination of 5

and 5 teams for next round

while one team will get bye  for next round

Hence total 6 teams will be in next round.

Find - Number of teams that will appear in lower half

Solution - To calculate number of teams in lower half, for knock out tournament, formula is used. The formula is - (n-1)/2

where, n is total number of teams.

Keeping the value in formula -

Number of teams appearing in lower half - (11-1)/2

Number of teams appearing in lower half - 10/2
