5. If one zero of a polynomial X2 - 5X – 6 is 6, then find the other zero

Hey.......!!! here is ur answer......

Given that.....the polynomial is...

x²–5x–6 = 0.......(1)

On factoring the equation (1)

=> x²–6x+x–6 = 0

=> x(x–6)+1(x–6) = 0

=> (x+1)(x–6) = 0

when x+1 = 0 => x=–1

and when x–6 = 0 => x=6

Thus the required zeroes of the polynomial are 6 and –1
