Answer:

mean of 10,12,18,13,P and 17 is

(10+12+18+13+P+17)/6

=(70+P)/6

so,

70+P/6=15

=> 70+P=15×6

=> 70+P=90

=> P=90-70

=> P=20

value of P is 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The mean of 10, 12, 18. 13, P and 17 is 15

To find:-

Find the value of P ?

Solution:-

Given observations are : 10, 12, 18, 13, P and 17

Sum of all observations

= 10+12+18+13+P+17

=70+P

Sum of all observations = 70+P

Number of all observations = 6

We know that

Mean = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

=>Mean = (70+P)/6

According to the given problem

Mean of the above observations = 15

=>(70+P)/6 = 15

=> 70+P = 15×6

=> 70+P = 90

=> P = 90-70

=> P = 20

Therefore, P = 20

Answer:-

The value of P for the given problem is 20

Used formula:-

Mean = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations
