5. If x = 1 and y = 2 then find the values of the following algebraic expressions with solutions
(i) 3x + 4y
(ii) -2x +9y

= 3+8

= 11

-2×1+9×2

= -2+18

= 16

5×1-3×2

= 5-6

= -1

1+5×2-6

= 1+10-6

= 11-6
