5. If x = 1, y = -1 and z = 0, find the value of: x + y (i) 2y - 3x + 4z (ii) (iii) [ac2 + y2 +24] (iv) xy + y2 + zx y+z​

x = 1, y = -1 & z = 0

(i) x + y = 1 + (-1)

= 1 - 1

= 0

(ii) 2y - 3x + 4z = 2(-1) - 3 (1) + 4 (0)

= -2 -3 + 0

= -5

(iii) xz2 + y2 + 24 = (1)(0)2 + (-1)2 + 24

= 0 - 2 + 24

= 22

(iv) xy + y2 + zxy + z = (1)(-1) + (-1)2 + (0)(1)(-1) + (0)

= -1 - 2 + 0 + 0

= -3
