Find the percentage of profit or loss in each of the following cases -
(i) S.P. of 20 articles. = C.P. of 25 articles.
(ii) C.P. of 30 articles =
S.P. of 40 articles.​

Answer:

(i)....loss on sale=25-20=5

(ii)....prodit on sale=40-30=10

now sub. 5 by 10...we will get 5

total sp=40+20=60

percentage =5/60×100

percentage= 8.33%(approx)

Let C.P of one article be = x

S.P of 20 articles = C.P of 25 articles

" " 1. " = 25x/20

Now,

Profit = S.P – C.P

= 25x/20 – x

= 25x – 20x/20

= 5x / 20

= x/4

Profit%=Profit/C.P*100

= x/4/x * 100

= x/4*x * 100

Now x and x cancel and 4 is divided by 100 so we get : 25%
