As per the questions

if (a) is positive (+a) then (c) is negative (-c) and b is real doesnt matter positive or negative

Now, calculate D for the nature of roots

If D>=0 Then roots are real

If D<0 Then roots are imaginary

D=b^2 -4ac =b^2 -4(+a)(-c) =b^2 +4ac =positive

meaning, D>0  so Roots will be real
