Actually in algebra, variables are like containers, where you can store numbers that can be integer or float.
Variables are symbolised as ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’, ‘m’, ‘n’, ‘x’, ‘y’, ‘z’ or anything else...... they can have their own value. But in algebra, we don’t know the value. Such as,
x + 2 = 6
or, x + 2 - 2= 6 - 2
or, x = 4
So, in this equation (x + 2 = 6), we don’t know the value of x. But at the third line, we have diagnosed the value of ‘x’ which is 4....... here, ‘x’ is a variable.
Thank you.
