x+ 2y=4 , 4x-2y=6

by substitution method-

x=4-2y........(1)

x=6+2y/4. ......(2)

putting the value of X from eqn 1 to 2, we get

4-2y=6+2y/4

-2y/1-2/4y=6-4

LCM of 4 and 1 in LHS

(-8y-2y)/4=2

-10y/4=2

-10y=2*4

-y=8/10

y=-4/5

now, from eqn 1

x=4-2y

x=4-5*4/5

x=4-1*4/1

x=3*4

x=12
