(x +5)\8 =9

x+5=72(8*9)

x=72-5=67

According to your given statement we get..

Taking the number as x

(5+x)/8=9 —(as there is no remainder you take the quotient, if there was a remainder you would have taken 9 + the quotient i.e [(5=+x)/8=9+ remainder]

5+x=9*8

5+x=72

x=72-5

Ans: x=67
