B)Moonlight is associated heavily with silence in the poem.

The listeners

  • The writer makes a secretive climate in the sonnet "The Listeners" through perspectives like the twilight setting, without any indication of progress. Here a solitary voyager finds himself incapable to make the human contact he has apparently been gathered for.
  • .The moon sparkles that evening as the Traveler approaches the "solitary house" in the backwoods. Everything hushes up with the exception of the Traveler's pony chomping on grass. Just a bird mixes, flying up and out of a turret.
  • The sonnet leaves many inquiries unanswered, remembering whether everybody for the house has kicked the bucket. It is indistinct why the one man conscious inside the house won't end the quiet and answer the calls of the explorer. The explorer, who is "confounded" by the "abnormality" of this scene, is compelled to withdraw with next to no responses
