given, bullet mass=15 g

gun mass=5kg

velocity=1000m/s

now,

mass of bullet=15g

=15/1000kg

=.015kg

velocity of bullet =1000m/s

mass of gun =5 kg

(to calculate recoil velocity of gun __

(mass of bullet × velocity of bullet)

=(mass of gun ×recoil velocity of gun)

=(0.015×1000)=(5×recoil velocity of gun)

=recoil velocity=.015×1000/5

=3 m/s (answer is 3m/s)

momentum of bullet=mass of bullet

×velocity of bullet

=0.015×1000

15=5×v

v=15/5

v=3 m/s
