Here is the answer.

Total amount of adulterated rice = 5kg

stone = 2% of 5kg

or, stone = 0.02 of 5

or, stone = 0.1 kg

Since half of the stone is removed

so remaining stone = 0.1/2 kg = 0.05 kg

Total amount of adulterated rice = 5 kg - 0.05 kg

as half or 0.05 kg stone is removed

or, total = 4.95 kg

stone = 0.05 kg

% of Stone = 0.05/4.95 ×100

= 1.01 % of stone.
