ASSAMESE DHOL

it is a folk music instrument of Assam.

It is two faced drum made up of mango and jackfruit.

A dholiya (one who plays dhol) beats the the right side with mari(a bamboo stick) and the other side with bare hands.

The side played with hands are made up of cow's leather and other with bull's.

The common form of the dhol are: Bihu dhol, oja dhol, joy dhol, bor dhol, kowi  dhol.
