5 machines, when operated 9 hours per day, can harvest a farm in 16 days. How many machines can harvest the same farm in 9 days operating 10 hours per day?

work done by 5 machines per day = 1/16

work done by 5 machines per hour =  1/16×9

work done by 1  machines per day per hour =  1/16×9×5

let 'x' be the days taken by 8 machines which is operated 10 hours each day.

       Thus,

                     work done by 8 machines working 10 hours each day for' x' days' =8×10×x

                            thus,

                                           [1/16×9×5]  × [8×10×x] = 1

                                           ⇒ x = 9 days
