Let A be the position of the street bulb fixed on a pole AB=6m and CD=15m be the height of a women and her shadow be ED = 3m. Let distance between pole and women be x m.

Here, women and pole both are standing vertically.

So, CD||AB

In CDE and ABE, /_ E=/_E

ABE=CDE

ABE=CDE

CDE~ABE

Then, ED/EB=CD/AB

=> 3/3+X=1.5/6

=> 3×6=1.5(3+X)

=> 18=1.5×3+1.5X

=> 1.5X=18-4.5

:- x=13.5/1.5=9m
