3^x - 8 = 9/3^x

let 3^x =t

t - 8 = 9/t

t^2 -8t - 9 = 0

t^2 - 9t + t -9 =0

(t+1)(t - 9) = 0

t =1

3^x = 1

x log3 = 0

x =0

and

t=9

3^x =3^2

x=2

so x=0 and 9
