5 ml of water was taken in two china dishes. Sample A was kept inside a
cupboard while Sample B was kept under a fan.

(i) In which of the two samples will evaporation take place faster? Give
a reason to support your answer.

(ii) What would happen if the above activity was carried out on a rainy

Answer:

MAY IT HELP U

Explanation:

(1) the sample A would evaporate faster as the factors of evaporation are

speed of air etc.... affect the evaporation

(2) as in rainy day the temp is low so the evaporation takes place less.

(3) we spread them as when the wind blows faster then it carries the moisture away and makes it dry faster

Answer:

Evaporation will be faster in Sample A where the

dish is kept under the fan. This is because when the wind is blowing, it makes the rate of evaporation faster. If the same experiment is carried out on a rainy day, the water will not evaporate too much. This is because

During the rainy season, humidity content in the air is high. So if the air is already laden with moisture, there is not much chance of the water evaporating into the atmosphere.- During rainy days, the temperature is low, so the rate of evaporation will be slower.- The rate of evaporation depends upon the amount of sunlight received. More is the sunlight, faster is the rate of evaporation. During rainy days, sunlight is not much.- And if winds blow faster, rate of evaporation will also be faster. Evaporation is a surface phenomenon. The surface area of the shirt can be  increased by spreading the shirt on a cloth hang line
