(6x + y) × (3y - 2x)

6x × ( 3y - 2x ) +y × (3y - 2x)

18xy - 12x² + 3y² - 2xy

18xy - 2xy - 12x² + 3y²

Answer:

(6x + y)(3y - 2x)

By method of expansion: you use the first term in the first bracket to multiply what's in the second bracket and you also use the second term in the first bracket to multiply what's in the second bracket.

6x(3y - 2x) +y(3y -2x)

then you multiply

18xy - 12x² + 3y² - 2xy

collect like terms

18xy - 2xy - 12x² + 3y²

= 16xy - 12x² + 3y²
