Mushrooms are saprophytes, i.e. they depend on dead and decaying matter for their own nutrition.

Dodder plant, however, is a parasite. It depends on the host for both food and water.

So, even though both of them are heterotrophs, one of them is a saprophyte and the other is a parasite.
