Given

  • Here we have 3 resistors connected in parallel of 10Ω , 5Ω & 15Ω

To Find

  • Equivalent resistance

Solution

☯ The equivalent resistance of a parallel combination is given by, 1/Rₙₑₜ = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂ ... + 1/Rₙ

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Equivalent Resistance :

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂ ... + 1/Rₙ

  • R₁ =
  • R₂ = 10Ω
  • R₃ = 15Ω

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = 1/5 + 1/10 + 1/15

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = (1/5 × 6/6) + (1/10 × 3/3) + (1/15 × 2/2)

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = 6/30 + 3/30 + 2/30

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = (6+3+2)/30

→ 1/Rₙₑₜ = 11/30

→ Rₙₑₜ = 30/11

→ Rₙₑₜ = 2.72 Ω

∴ The equivalent resistance of the combination is 2.72Ω
