Introduction :

India is a country of villages. A majority of her population lives in villages. Most of them are farmers. Agriculture is their main occupation. They work in the fields that are around the village. Indian economy is an agricultural one. So, farmers are the backbone of India.

His dress :

A village farmers wears simple dress. Dhoti & Kurta is his main dress. But now-a-days farmers also wears paints and shirts.Few farmers have woollen clothes for winter.In winter season, he wraps a blanket around himself to keep away the cold.

His house :

The rich farmers have good house in their villages. But the small farmers are still backward. They live in mud-made houses & cottages.The drainage system in mud-made houses is not very well.

His food :

A farmers is lucky for he eats pure things. His food is very simple. He drinks pure milk. He eats pure butter & ghee. He generally takes chapaties, green vegetables and rice.But, now-a-days, few farmers enjoy balanced diet.

His work :

A village farmer is very hard working.He get up early in the morning whether it's summer or winter.He takes his plough and with his cattle goes to his field even before it's full day light. He works there without caring for the hardships of weather.We find him working in his fields, showing, ploughing or reaping in bitter cold as well as in hot winds or heavy rainfall. He works ceaselessly till noon, when his wife or children bring his mid-day meal. Having eaten his meagre food, he again begins to work & returns home late in the evening. After taking dinner, he goes to chaupal to discuss his problems & to pass time in gossips. He is busy through-out the year.He goes to sell his yield to the market but he does not get fair price for his grains. This is the reason for poverty or why he lives from hand to mouth in very miserable condition.

Conclusion :

According to see situation of farmers government has done a lot to improve the condition of village farmers yet a number of reforms are needed to make the life of the farmers happier & healthier. The government should solve his conditions or problems sympathetically.

The slogan given by late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, "Jai jawan, Jai Kisan" will always be an incentive  to village farmers.
