One day Maya went to school by her bicycle at a

father on a motorbike at a speed of 48 km/hr. During
both to and fro journey, she took 37 minutes. find
the distance between her home and the school.

let the distance between her home and school be 'x'
total distance for to and fro motion is x+x = 2x
total time = 37 minutes = 37/60 hours
average speed = total distance / total time
=> 2x/37/60 = 48+12/2
=> 120x/37 = 30
x = 1110/120
x = 9.25 km
therefore distance between home and school is 9.25km
