Verbs with correct tenses are-

(a)If I were a star, I would help the needy.

(b) He Would buy a house if he had a job

(c)She would be happy, if she married.

  • Conditional sentences are the sentences that describe a condition in one part and state the consequences of the condition in another part.
  • The conditional part starts with the word 'If'.
  • There are 4 types of conditional sentences.
  • The second conditional sentence is used to express the outcome either of an improbable situation or a situation with little certainty in the present or future.
  • the first statement describes a completely unrealistic situation so the verb form of 'be' will be in the past tense - were.

If I were a star, I would help the needy.

  • In The second sentence, to make the sentence conditional, we use - if + would + Verb.

The conditional sentence would be - He would buy a house if he had a job.

  • Similarly to make the third sentence we will use -' would' before the verb 'be'

She would be happy, if she married him.
