(5 raise to the power of x+1) + (5 raise to the power of x-2)=(5 raise to 3) + 1

5^x+1 + 5^x-2 = 5^3 + 1
1 can also be written as 5^0
5^x+1 + 5^x-2 = 5^3 + 5^0
As you can see that there are same base '5' terms on both sides. So now you can equate the powers
X+1=3. & x-2=0
X=2. & x=2
