Answer:

The amount he borrowed is 11714.28

Solution

Let money be x

Money after 5 years in 8 p.c.p.a

 x + \frac{x × 8 × 5}{100} = 16400

 \frac{20x + 8x }{20} = 16400\: (using     \:LCM)

 \frac{28x}{20} = 16400

 x = \frac{16400 × 20}{28} = 11714.28 \: (ans) \\(using\: cross \:multiplication)

Hope it helps

Answer:

he borrowed 11714.28

Step-by-step explanation:

let Ramesh borrowed x rupees for 5 year at  8 p.c.p.a

he returned 16400

solution

formula

simple interest = (capital ×rate×time)/100

int = (x×8×5)/100

int = 2x/5

now

he returned 16400 rupees altogether

means

16400= x+2x/5

7x/5 = 16400

x= 16400×5/7

x = 82000/7

x= 11714.28
