5. Ravi and Anil have drawn two squares with arm lengths of 1.8 cm and 3 cm respectively. Their friend Asim drew a square so that the sum of the area of that square and the square drawn by Robi is equal to the square drawn by Anil. What is the length of each side of the infinite square?

Given,
Length of the square drawn by Ravi = 1.8 centimetres
Length of the square drawn by Anil = 3 centimetres
Area of Asim's square + Area of Ravi's square = Anil's square
To find,
The length of each side of the Asim's square.
Solution,
Area of the square which is drawn by Ravi is = 1.8 × 1.8 = 3.24 cm²
Area of the square which is drawn by Anil is = 3×3 = 9 cm²
Let,the length of each sides of the Asim's square = x cm
[Assume, x as a variable to do the further mathematical calculations.]
So,area of Asim's square = x² cm²
According to the question,
x²+3.24 = 9
x² = 5.76
x = 2.4
Hence,the length of each sides of the square which is drawn by Asim is 2.4 centimetres.
