Explanation:
2015’s party anthem, “Lean On” was shot in Karjat and Vasai, both places in Maharashtra. The song opens with Danish singer MO singing in a palace set up. But here’s a fun fact- it was not an actual palace but the same set used in the movie Jodha Akbar which was designed by Nitin Desai. Aside of using the location, the song was directed with lot of Indian sensibilities infused such as dancers dancing in Kasavu sarees, the artists singing inside a bus, the busy streets, and so on.
“Hymn For The Weekend” by The Coldplay

In a blink-and-miss second, one can also catch a glimpse of Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor running around in ethnic garbs.
“Magenta Riddim” by DJ Snake
The latest addition to the list, “Magenta Riddim” (2018) is a fun looking video, shot in the famous Ramoji Rao Film City, Telangana . Inspired by Tollywood style, the music video has a South Indian touch to it and follows a squad of firefighters who can’t stop dancing. Much of the talent and the crew involved in the making of the video were local artists. DJ Snake seems to have a deep interest in India and the Indianness of its things for “Magenta Riddim” isn’t his first song to be shot here.
“Bounce” by Iggy Azalea
The Aussie rapper, Iggy Azalea dropped her hip-hop track “Bounce” in 2013 and it showcased from the pristine Taj Mahal to elephants to enthusiastic guests dancing it off at an Indian wedding. The video was filmed in Mumbai, where we see Iggy singing and dancing cladded in sarees and once in a complete bridal attire! Elephants, temples, pandits doing aarti and kids celebrating Holi were also part of the video that made it appear more desi and real.
“The Cave” by Mumford & Sons
London-based rock band Mumford & Sons released their third single “The Cave” in 2010 and it was completely filmed in Goa. In the video, we see the members of the band riding two wheelers in and around the place, a very touristy thing to do when in Goa. The USP of the video, making it stand out in the list is that the lead singer speaks two lines in Hindi in the starting of the video. How cool is that!
