3) Heron's formula can be applied to find the area of a quadrilateral by dividing the quadrilateral into two triangular parts. If we join any of the two diagonals of the quadrilateral, then we get two triangles. Area of each triangle is calculated and the sum of two areas is the area of the quadrilateral.

Answer:

Let the sides of triangle be 12x , 17x, 25x.

Now,

12x + 17x + 25x = 540cm

54x = 540

x = 10cm

12x = 12 * 10= 120

17x = 17*10 170

25x = 25*10 250

Semi perimeter = 270 cm

√ 270(270-120) (270-170) (270-250)

√ 270* 150* 100* 20

9000cm^2
