5 similarities Between ancient India and present India
Answers
1st and foremost Geography :
Ancient India - Indus valley civilisation had its base in areas currently known as Harappa and mohenjodaro ( these are currently in Pakistan ).
Aryavarta - this was spread from Afghanistan to areas around Gangatic basin covering current day uttar pradesh. It covered less than 10% of current indian territory.
Science and technology :
The ancient india (I mean geographical area mentioned above ) was technologically far ahead of its time.
We all know about the elaborate drainage system - one example is enough.
Religion :
The major religions were vedic religion and nature worship (I refuse to call either of them Hinduism ).
Later day stages we see emergence of Budd and Jainism.
Society :
It was a society of mature and intelligent people.
Varnas were not defined by birth.
Anuloma and pratilom marriages were a norm (have not yet read about honour killing in ancient times )
Women had choices of their own and they exercised them (I'm not using phrase - “ were allowed to “)
Now coming to Current india : we are living in it and we all know what we are.
