Answer:
5.Britishers ruled our country for many years . They made indians their slaves . They grabbed all our rich heritage . These all things will not be recorded by them as they will be pointed our for their injustice towards india . So according to their version they will write what they think is right .
3.One of the most primary sources of modern Indian history is the official records of the British colonial administration in India. The culture of memos, notings and reports preserved by the British has come to be seen as an authentic source of Indian historiography.
4.The modern period in India is associated with the establishment of British colonial rule and the fight we put up against it. It also cover socio-cultural change that came about in India under the influence of the British.
d.1.Periodization in history has changed over time. We divide history into periods on the basis of something which has had a profound impact on the way we live. For e.g.- some historians say that the change from the ancient to the medieval period occurred with the arrival of Turks in India. Similarly, the change from medieval to modern occurred with the arrival of the British on the shores of India.
2.Interpretations differ in history as individuals and groups interpret events differently. For example, the British wanted to downplay the popular nature of the Revolt of 1857. So they termed it a ‘sepoy mutiny’, thereby implying that only some sepoys of the English East India Company revolted on the issue of greased cartridge. The masses, they say, were left untouched by this sequence of events. Indian historians, however, treat it differently. Contemporary records also support them. They tell us that the common people played a vital part in the events and the real reason for this uprising was the exploitative nature of British rule. The revolt would have happened in any case. The fact that the sepoys and the common people were ready to use the same cartridges to expel the British prove this. So there are generally differing opinions and interpretations in history. It is for us to get to the bottom and dig out the truth. For this, we should not rely on only one source but we should also look at other sources
3.Official records:
The official records are the documents that the government kept with them, in other words, these were the documents in which all the policies or projects of the government were registered. The official records were mainly kept by the British government. In these records, the administration kept the written statements of all key instruction, inquiry, plan, strategy settlement and agreement. These official records or the documents serve as the primary sources of history.
Surveys:
The system of surveying became general under the colonial rule because British considered that a nation had to be accurately known before it could be effectively regulated. Detailed surveys were conducted out by the British officials to map the entire land. In other words, these surveys were being conducted as a part of a colonial policy of revenue collection. The information (about the quality of soil, cropping patterns and flora and fauna) collected by the survey of the land was used to determine the rate of taxes to be imposed on people.
4.British conducted so many surveys in india because the british people wanted to be famous all over the india and as well as the whole world by the future people . They conducted surveys in order to check their spread of business all over the india. They neeed all the future people to know about their "EAST INDIA COMPANY"..!
