There are multiple examples of unhealthy living that we can find in our surroundings.
To begin with, one can always spot 1) garbage lying around. Empty packets of chips, banana peels, used polythene bags.
2) Additionally, even food that has been left out for stray animals in parks and along paths. Sometimes this food is already spoilt and us not consumed by the animals and only serves to attract flies.
3) Flies can also be found on the excreta of dogs. Not much can be done to regulate stray dogs, but sadly, pet owners also do not understand their responsibility. They specially take their dogs out on walks, during which the dogs end up dirtying the surroundings with their excreta.
4) Yet another cause of unhygienic surroundings is spitting on the roads. Many workers are addicted to tobacco and 'paan' and often need to spit. This spreads infections, more so during the Covid-19 pandemic.
5) Furthermore, people often leave water in small pots or birdbaths, for birds and stray animals. If these containers are not regularly cleaned, they become the breeding grounds for mosquitoes which in turn spread diseases like malaria and dengue fever.
