India is a country which is heavily influenced by the ancient scriptures, but sometimes these holy text and misinterpreted by the sages which leads to a slew of social practices which could be evil.
=>Child Marriage
Children as young as 4 years old are married off to old men and have to suffer for the rest of their life. They are forced to grow up before they could choose to.
=>Sati
Sati is the evil practice of making a woman jump into the flames of her deceased husband's funeral pyre.
=>Dowry
To get the prospective groom to accept their daughter's hand in marriage, the parents are made to pay heavy amounts of money or property called dowry.
=>Triple Talaq
A Muslim man could divorce his wife without prior notice just by saying 'Talaq' three times. Nowadays they are also triple talaq by whatsapp.
=>Purdah
Women in the house are prohibited to show their faces in the house and have to wear a ghoonghat over their heads at all times.
