After transposing both sides

\sf{6x-7x=3-15}

Calculate both sides

\sf{-x=-12}

After multiplying by -1

\sf{x=12}

For your information,

  • transposing the sides is a method of adding or subtracting on both sides.
  • after we isolate unknown terms, divide by the number to find the solution.

Question :-

solve the following equation ;

a) 6x +15 = 7x +3

Answer :-

How to find it ?

we can find it by transposing method of linear equation .

Solution :-

6x + 15 = 7x + 3

6x  = 7x + 3 - 15

when the 15 come to the LHS side the sign changes .

6x = 7x - 12

the value of 3-15 is -12 As the greater number is also having the subtraction sign the 12 will also have the subtraction sign .

6x - 7x =  - 12

when 7x come to the RHS side . the sign changes

 - 1 x=  - 12

now the minus sign will be cancelled both the side .

x = 12

Hence , the answer will be 12 .
