Given:-
- Power of electric pump, P = 2 Kw = 2000 W
- Height,h = 10 m
- Acceleration due to gravity,g = 9.8 m/s²
- Time taken,t = 1 minutes = 60 seconds
To be calculated:-
How much water will the pump lift every minute to a height of 10 m?
Formula used:-
- Work done = m × g × h
- P = W/t
Solution:
Firstly,
P = Work done/Time taken
We know that, work done = m × g × h
P = m × g × h / t
★ Substituting the values in the above formula,we get;
⇒ 2000 = m × 9.8 × 10 / 60
⇒ 2000 × 60 = m × 98/10 × 10
⇒ 120000 = m × 98
⇒ m × 98 = 120000
⇒ m = 120000/98
⇒ 1,224.48 kg
Thus,the electric pump lift every minutes 1224.48 kg of water .
