Five states are:
Solid - has fixed shape and volume. the molecules are tightly packed.
Liquid - has fixed volume but no fixed shape, the molecules are slightly loosely packed.
Gas - No fixed shape or volume. molecules are very loosely packed.
Plasma - Extremely rare on Earth but common in outer space. Extremely hot ionised gas.
Bose Einstein Condensate (BEC) - Rarity is unknown as it is formed when its temperature is merely a fraction above absolute zero. In this state, the temperature is so low that electrons almost stop moving, causing this to be a highly unstable state of matter.
