Give reasons for the following.

1. The pressure exerted by the sharp knife edge is more than that exerted by the blunt one because the area on which force is exerted with a sharp knife is very small. Thus, it is easier to cut with the former than with the latter.

2.Hence, the deep sea divers wear special suits which protect them from extreme pressure of water. These suits are called diving suits. These suits contain buoyancy compensators to combat the weight of their diving equipment and the pressure of water at great depths.

Answer the following questions in short

1. Pressure, in the physical sciences, the perpendicular force per unit area, or the stress at a point within a confined fluid.

4.Atmospheric pressure, also known as barometric pressure (after the barometer), is the pressure within the atmosphere of Earth. The standard atmosphere (symbol: atm) is a unit of pressure defined as 101,325 Pa (1,013.25 hPa; 1,013.25 mbar), which is equivalent to 760 mm Hg, 29.9212 inches Hg, or 14.696 psi.

7.Moment of force (often just moment) is a measure of its tendency to cause a body to rotate about a specific point of axis. In this concept the moment arm, the distance from the ais of rotation, plays an important role. The S. I. unit for moment is the newton meter (Nm)
