Advantages.... 1- They do not shrink. 2- They are quick drying and need very little or no ironing. 3- They last longer as compared the fabrics made from natural fibers. Disadvantages... 1- Synthetic fibers do not absorb water or sweat. In hot and humid weather therefore the clothes made of synthetic fiber stick to the body and make the wearer uncomfortable. 2- Synthetic fibers melt and burn easily. 3- Synthetic fibers on catching fire shrink forming beads which stick to the skin. Therefore it is not advisable to use clothes made from synthetic fibers while working near flam/fire, such as,in kitchen. 4- Synthetic fibers are non biodegradable . Therefore they cause soil pollution.

Advantages of synthetic fibres:
- They are strong and cheap.
- They are crease resistant.
- They are not attacked by moths and moulds.
- They are easy to wash and maintain.
- They dry quickly.
- They are light, durable and easy to maintain.
Disadvantages of synthetic fibres:
- They do not allow air to pass freely through them and hence are not good for summer.
- They do not absorb sweat as natural fibres do.
- They get damaged by high temperature when ironed.
- They catch fire more easily than cotton or wool. If synthetic fibres catch fire, they melt and stick to the body of the person wearing it. Hence, it is not advisable to wear synthetic clothes while working in the kitchen.
