therefore (1) = (2) + area of remaining portion
4x² - 2x -6 = (x² - 4x + 5) + Y
4x² - 2x -6 - (x² - 4x + 5) = Y
3x² + 2x - 11 = Y
so area of shaded portion will be
( Y ) = 3x² + 2x - 11 sq units
