Given :-

Cost price of an article :- ₹20000

Cost spent for repairs :- ₹1400

Profit percentage :- 20%

To Find :-

Selling price of an article

Formula required :-

{\tt \large \dashrightarrow \orange{\boxed{\tt \gray{\dfrac{(100 + Profit \bf\%)}{100} \times Cost \: price}}}}

Solution :-

First, we should find the total cost price of the article by adding the given cost price and the cost spent on its repairs

Cost price :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 20000 + 1400}

{\tt \longrightarrow Rs \: \: 21400}

Now,

Selling price :-

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{(100 + 20)}{100} \times 21400}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{120}{100} \times 21400 = \dfrac{6}{5} \times 21400}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{6 \times 21400}{5} = \dfrac{182400}{5}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{182400}{5} = \boxed{\tt Rs \: \: 25680}}

\Huge\therefore The selling price of an article is 25680.

Given :-

  • Cost Price ( CP ) of an article is Rs. 20,000
  • Money spent on repairs is Rs. 1,400
  • Sold for profit of 20 %

To Find :-

  • Selling Price ( SP ) of that article

Solution :-

→ Here , in the question we're given that Rs. 1,400 were spent on repairing the article . So, we'll add that amount in the cost price of the article .

\sf \implies 20,000 + 1,400

\sf \implies Rs. \;  21,400

→ ATQ we need to find the Selling price of that article .

Formula :-

\sf SP = \dfrac{(100+Gain\%) \times CP}{100}

→ Let's solve by putting the values in this formula

\sf \leadsto \dfrac{(100+20) \times 21400}{100}

\sf \leadsto \dfrac{120 \times 21400}{100}

\sf \leadsto 120 \times 214

\sf \leadsto Rs. \; 25680

∴ Selling Price of the article is Rs. 25680
