Area of path = Area of bigger rectangle-Area of smaller rectangle

now,

dimensions of larger rectangle:

length=35m

breadth=20m

area=length×breadth=35×20=700m². -----(1)

now,

dimensions of smaller rectangle:

length=35-4=31m

breath=20-4=16

area(smaller rectangle)=length×beadth=31×16=496m². ------(2)

area of path=(700-496)m²=204m²....(from 1 and 2)

cost of paving=204×25=5100 rs.....(hope u mean the rate for each sq m of pavement is 25rs and not 25paise... plz see to it)

cost of covering rest of plot with grass=496×3.19=1582.24

now add the two costs=1582.24+5100=6882.24rs...

hope it helps!!
