Step-by-step explanation:

height of a tank = 2m

length = 3m more than its breath

80 cu.m water can be stored

height ×length

2×3x

6x

80×3x

240 ml

length = 5m

breadth=8m

Step-by-step explanation:

here,

The height of a tank = 2m

the length of A tank = x

length is 3 m more than its breadth. = x+3

the volume of tank =80 cu.m

Now

volume of tank =80 cu.m

or, l×b×h=80

or, x.(x+3). 2= 80

or, x^2 + 3x = 40

or, x^2 + (8-5)x - 40= 0

or, (x+ 8) (x-5) =0

either

x+8 = 0

x = - 8 does not exist

either

x-5 =0

x= 5

so, the length of a tank = 5m

breadth. = x+3 = 5 +3 = 8m
