5. The length of a 10cm high cuboid exceeds its breadth by 4 cm. If the
volume of the cuboid is 2210 cm", find its length.​

Let the length, breadth and height of the cuboid be L,B, and H. Then it is given

H=10

L=B+4 equation 1 and

L×B×H=2210 equation 2

put the value of L from equation 1 in equation 2

(B+4)(B)(10)=2210

B(B+4)=221

B^2+4B-221=0

(B-13)(B+17)=0

B=13 or B=-17

-17 is not possible.

So B=13

put this value of B in any of the above equations you will get

L=17
